U.S. Highway 63 Planning Study

U.S. Highway 63 Planning Study. This study is currently underway and evaluates U.S. Highway 63 in Waterloo from the interchange with U.S. Highway 218 to north of Donald Street. Some of the issues this planning study is evaluating include how best to accommodate visiting traffic (such as would be expected when the River Renaissance project is complete); how to encourage economic development, especially in the downtown area near the river projects; how best to handle the anticipated traffic flows; and how to enhance the corridor through landscaping and other amenities. This study is expected to be completed in September of 2004. Funding for the construction improvements recommended in the study has yet to be appropriated.
